Russian foreign policy decision-making remains one of the grey areas of operation of the Russian state. With the Security Council clearly claiming the primary role in formulating the top foreign policy agenda, what role do the MFA and the Presidential Administration play in shaping the decision-making and execution of foreign policy agenda? Are the Russian foreign-policy think-tanks involved in decision-making or do they only play the role of intellectual backing of the dominant narratives in place? How can we access the role of individuals and state-corporations in formulating foreign-policy agenda – with Rosneft’s Sechin active involvement in Russia’s relations with Venezuela, Iraq and Libya?
Russian political analyst Anton Barbashin will provide his insights into those questions, attempting to decipher the complicated relations of Russian foreign policy agencies."

The lecture will be hosted by Anton Barbashin - Editorial director at Riddle, political analyst. 2015-2018 – Managing editor at Intersection. 2014-2018 – Analyst at Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding. Specialist in International Relations, Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management. Visiting Expert at Kennan Institute in 2017.
